Beta Install guide

Install Prospector in Chrome

While Prospector is in beta, you load it as an unpacked extension in Chrome's developer mode. It takes about three minutes, you only do it once, and it is completely safe for an internal tool. Here is every step.

About 3 minutes One-time setup Chrome or Edge

You are all set

Your download is starting automatically. If it does not, use the button below, then follow the steps to install it.

Why developer mode?

During the beta, Prospector is not yet in the Chrome Web Store, so you install it from a folder instead. "Developer mode" is just the switch that allows that. Nothing about it is risky for a tool your team is giving you, and you can remove it anytime from the same page.

  1. Unzip the file we sent you

Find mmp-prospector-chrome-extension.zip in your Downloads, then unzip it.

    On Mac: double-click the zip.
On Windows: right-click and choose Extract All.
Keep the folder somewhere permanent. Chrome reads the extension from this folder, so do not delete or move it after installing.
  2. Open Chrome's extensions page

Click the address bar, type the line below, and press Enter.

    chrome://extensions
  3. Turn on Developer mode

In the top-right corner of that page, flip the Developer mode switch on. A new row of buttons appears.

  4. Click "Load unpacked" and pick the folder

Press Load unpacked at the top-left, then select the mmp-prospector-chrome-extension folder you unzipped.

Pick the folder itself, not a file inside it. If you see files like manifest.json listed, you are one level too deep. Go up one and choose the folder.
  5. Pin it to your toolbar

Click the puzzle-piece icon near the top-right of Chrome, find MMP Prospector, and click the pin so its icon sits in your toolbar.

  6. Open the panel and connect

Click the Prospector icon to open the side panel. It will ask for a key.

Sign in to My Marketing Pro in another tab.
Open /extensions/prospector/extension-connect.php, click Generate key, then Copy key.
Paste the key into the panel and click Connect.
  7. Allow your microphone (only if you make calls)

Calls happen inside Chrome, so it needs microphone permission once. In Settings, click Enable microphone and choose Allow when Chrome asks.

Installing the panel is the easy part. The reason Prospector works on day one is the setup we do with you. For a limited time, every subscription includes a personal, founder-led session that gets all of this live and teaches you to run it.

Provision your phone number

We set up a dedicated number for your calls and texts, registered and ready to use.

Route texts and calls

Inbound and outbound routing is wired so replies reach you and nothing slips through.

Set up ringless voicemail

We configure and test ringless voicemail so you can drop a message without ringing the phone.

Stand up your AI voice agent

Your conversational AI voice agent is set up with a voice and script tuned to how you sell.

Plus expert-level training. We do not just hand you the keys. You get a walkthrough of the whole workflow, from revealing a prospect to working them across every channel, so you can run Prospector like a closer from your first session.
Chrome says the manifest is missing or invalid
You probably selected a file or the wrong folder. Click Load unpacked again and pick the mmp-prospector-chrome-extension folder that directly contains manifest.json, not a parent folder and not a file.
The extension disappeared after I restarted my computer
That happens if the unzipped folder was deleted or moved. Chrome loads the extension from that folder, so keep it in a permanent spot. If it is gone, unzip again to a stable location and reload it with Load unpacked.
The panel will not connect with my key
Make sure you are signed in to My Marketing Pro in another tab, then generate a fresh key from the connect page and copy it whole. Keys are easiest to break by copying with a trailing space, so use the Copy key button rather than selecting by hand.
Calls say my microphone is blocked
Open the panel Settings, click Enable microphone, and choose Allow in Chrome's popup. If you previously blocked it, you can re-allow it at chrome://settings/content/microphone.
How do I update to a new beta build
When we send a new zip, unzip it over the same folder, then go to chrome://extensions and click the refresh icon on the Prospector tile. Your connection and settings carry over.
